OSLO, NORWAY (2020) — Helly Hansen is thrilled to receive the Red Dot: Best of the Best award for the new Arctic Patrol Modular Parka. Featuring innovative design and functionality, the parka was voted as one of the best products in its category. As the world’s most renowned design competition, Red Dot took in more than 6,500 product entries from designers and companies across 60 countries, which were evaluated by an international jury of experts in a variety of disciplines.

Rewarded for its craftsmanship and quality design, the Arctic Patrol Modular Parka was developed together with scientists living and working in the harshest arctic climates. The parka is built with 3 layers, including a warm and soft insulator jacket made with Primaloft® Gold body mapping insulation and a HELLY TECH® Professional waterproof and breathable 3-layer stretch shell jacket. The last layer is a durable, heavy- duty, waterproof outer layer with 200g Primaloft® Gold premium synthetic insulation, preferred by scientists because it stays drier and lighter than down alternatives. The 3-layer system allows the wearer to mix-and-match in at least six different combinations for optimal warmth and functionality in any situation.

“The design team and I are thrilled to win the top award in the Red Dot Design competition,” said Kristoffer Ulriksen, Category Managing Director for Urban at Helly Hansen. “Built for performance and protection in even the harshest of environments, each aspect of the parka was thoughtfully crafted, and we are honored that its meticulous design and functionality has been recognized by the expert panel.”

As the ultimate do-it-all parka for people who live and work in cold-weather climates, the Arctic Patrol Modular Parka comes with adjustable cuffs, hem and hood and ventilation zippers under the arms to let air in and keep cold out. Based on feedback from scientists working daily in the toughest conditions, the parka is also made with strategically placed pockets and loops so often-used tools and supplies can be easily accessed at any time. Additional features include a Life PocketTM, which preserves the battery life of mobile phones and electronics to stay connected, and a waterproof bag which the parka can be packed into for easy travel and convenience.

The Arctic Patrol Modular Parka comes in both men’s and women’s specific styles and will be available in- store and online in Fall 2020.
