Why the Mac Ride Is the Most Fun You’ll Ever Have Hauling 40 Pounds of Giggles Up a Mountain

Share

Let’s get one thing straight: riding mountain bikes is awesome but riding mountain bikes with your kids is way more awesome. Thankfully, the days of trying to carry your kiddo in a backpack like a sweaty koala, or affixing a strange, off-kilter car seat-type-contraption behind your saddle, are long gone. That’s where the Mac Ride comes in. This genius little contraption turns your mountain bike into a two-person adventure-mobile and your toddler into the best trail guide you’ve ever had. It snaps between your stem and seatpost and is a cinch to get into place.

Mounted between your seat and handlebars, the Mac Ride puts your kiddo in the middle of the action and lets you share the adventure in a really cool and personal way. On these journeys, you’re not just towing your kiddo around, you’re in the middle of their adventure and experiencing it through their eyes – pointing out trees, flowers, and answering existential questions about worms and monkeys. All this while you’re likely gasping for breath on a climb as your child asks you why you’re not going faster.

Now, to fitness. If you think you’re in shape, try climbing a hill with a 40-pound cackling cannonball between your arms yelling “FASTER DADDY!” as you move from Zone 4 to 5 on the heart rate monitor. Downhill, you’re a hero. Uphill, a pack mule. Either way, you’re sweating, giggling and whooping it with your tiny passenger.

So, grab your helmet, snap on the Mac Ride, load up your tiny trail buddy, and hit the dirt. The world looks better when you’re seeing it through a kid’s eyes even if they are slightly clouded with tears as you look to the next climb on the horizon.
