Big Green Egg Announces 26th Annual EGGtoberfest at Coolray Field

July 13, 2023 (Atlanta, GA) Big Green Egg is pleased to announce the 26th annual EGGtoberfest on Saturday, October 7th, live at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, Georgia, home of the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A affiliate of the ’21 World Champion Atlanta Braves. Coolray field will be filled with EGGhead cooks, Big Green Egg’s TeamGreen, and invited chefs from across the world. They’ll be firing up over 200 EGGs and cooking their favorite Big Green Egg recipes for the enjoyment of the attendees! A $75 ticket price includes delicious live fired food, commemorative T-shirt, swag bag, your first two beverages, cooking demos, parking, and more.  

For those that want to start the festivities early and kick off their EGGtoberfest weekend with a bang, Big Green Egg TeamGreen will be hosting a Southern BBQ throw down the evening of Friday, October 6th. The EGGs will be hot, and the beverages will be cold. A $50 ticket includes food, your first two beverages, and complimentary parking.  

EGGtoberfest is an annual event held in the Atlanta area each October. The fest originated in 1998 as a way for Big Green Egg to say ‘Thank You’ to the loyal customers who regularly logged in to the online forum to chat, share recipes, and their experiences. Many were eager to meet their online “family” and EGGtoberfest provided the opportunity to get together and cook their favorite recipes on the EGG. That first year, about 100 Big Green Egg pioneers attended the cookout at the American Legion Hall in Atlanta, with 15 cooks firing up EGGs. The meet, greet, and eat event turned into the First Annual EGGtoberfest and was enough of a success to usher in decades more of the event.  

The Annual EGGtoberfest has grown into a fun-filled weekend celebration where more than 200 EGGs are fired up by new and experienced EGGheads to feed the enthusiastic crowd of over 3,000 people. Spectacular fare can range from moose kabobs (the result of a successful Maine hunt) and a roasted whole fresh Alaskan salmon (caught, brought and cooked by an Alaska EGG owner) to exotic breakfast dishes, peach cobblers, grilled pineapple, rum soaked apple cake, smoked turkey necks, barbecued meatloaf and countless versions of pulled pork, fallin’-off-the-bone ribs, spicy sausages, juicy beef brisket, crispy pizza and nearly any other food that you can imagine. 

This family-oriented event also provides a rare opportunity for someone thinking about buying an EGG to see firsthand the versatility of the unique ceramic cooker. The EGGs that are cooked on are sold afterwards with a small number of lucky purchasers walking away with a freshly broken-in grill.
