DANNER PARTNERS WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PORTLAND TO CHAMPION NEXT GENERATION OF SKILLED TRADESPEOPLE

Portland, Ore. — As demand for skilled trades surges nationwide, a new generation is answering the call. Many Gen Z individuals—dubbed the “Toolbelt Generation”—are choosing hands-on career paths rooted in purpose and impact. At Danner, we’ve always believed in forging your own path. This fall, we’re proud to celebrate that spirit by teaming up with Habitat for Humanity Portland Region for a Community Build Day to spotlight the importance and future of trade careers.

On September 3, 2025, Danner will sponsor and participate in a Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Build Day at the Myrtlewood Way development (17640 NE Glisan Street, Gresham), a site that will ultimately provide 20 new homes for 85 people, including 47 children. This effort is more than just putting up walls—it’s about building futures.

We’re inviting partners, volunteers, and the media to join us alongside two local organizations shaping the next generation of tradespeople:

  • Ambassador Council of Habitat for Humanity – Young professionals from diverse industries supporting affordable homeownership in Portland.
  • Oregon Tradeswomen – Empowering women through education and career pathways in the skilled trades.

From framing and painting to landscaping, volunteers will work side-by-side with future homeowners and members of the local trades community, helping to lay the foundation—literally and figuratively—for brighter futures.

For nearly a century, Danner has crafted boots for those who blaze trails, build communities, and step into the unknown. This Build Day is an extension of our legacy—because at Danner, we believe that work worth doing is work worth supporting.

Journalists and photographers are welcome to attend and cover the event. To RSVP or request interviews with Danner, Habitat for Humanity Portland or participating organizations, please contact Zach Zenteno (zachz@WH1969.com).

ABOUT DANNER:

For nearly a century, Danner has crafted boots with purpose and integrity—footwear to equip those who choose the unlikely path, those who cut fresh trails, those who pioneer. In 1936, Charles Danner came West to build the best boots loggers had ever known, an effort that resulted in a long-standing heritage brand with a renegade spirit. A spirit that proudly lives on in each pair of Danner boots it makes to this day. Whether you want to hike, work or simply walk around town, Danner boots are meant to take you somewhere. Lace a pair up and Go There. Visit www.danner.com for more information.
